Lifestyle of Love
What does this lifestyle of love look like? Paul spells it out the later half of Ephesians. Today we look at what our speech should look like when dealing with others.
The Mature Body
Paul describes the church as the body of Christ. Each part has its own unique job but in working together the Body of Christ is built up. But Paul throws in the words “in love” whatever our job is it should be done in love.
Live a Life Worthy
In the last half of Ephesians beginning in Chapter 4 Paul is urges us to live a life worthy of the calling. Because of all that Paul reminds us of in chapters 1-3 Paul pleads that because of all of this we live a life worthy of the calling. What does that look like? He begins to explain that in chapter 4.
Infinite Love
Paul prays that the believers both Jewish and Gentile alike realize that grace isn’t given through a check list. That if we fully understand the love God has for us that there is a heart change and the world looks differently to us.
New Life
Baptism is an outward expression to an inward faith. The visual of dying out to our old way of living and into new life is a prefect example. Paul tells us in the first part of Ephesians chapter 2 not to get caught up in our old way of living but to grab hold of this new life we have been given by grace through faith.
The Eyes of Your Heart
Paul prays in chapter one of Ephesians that the eyes of our heart understand hope, inheritance, and the power of God. Since our hearts don’t have eyes we know that this is a knowing beyond knowing. That our heart may know beyond knowing. There is a difference between head knowledge and heart knowledge. Paul prays our hearts know these things.
2024 Annual Meeting
Paul reminds us in Ephesians 2 that growth is a process it isn’t something that happens overnight. May we continue to be willing to grow and realize it is a process and allow God to move in those ways.
Redemption
We have redemption and forgiveness through Jesus’ blood. What does that mean? We are going to talk about the sacrificial language used in our verse today in Ephesians.
Grace
Today we speak about the word predestination and what we believe this means within this first chapter of Ephesians. We also talk about grace and how our life should be an outflowing of the grace that has been freely given us. When we come to understand grace how can we live our life in other ways other than praising God?!?
Holy and Blameless
In Ephesians Paul talks about the unity of the church. There are so many great verses within Ephesians and Paul does so well explaining the beauty of the Gospel. Today we look at Ephesians 1:3-4. What are the heavenly realms, what is Holiness?
A Father's Love
The story of the prodigal son is one of those that makes me cry every time. At one time we have all decided we can make our own decisions. I am so thankful that the father welcomes us with open arms into the community. So thankful for the celebration. I pray we might be a voice within the darkness for others to find their way into community with God.
To Nurture
The Biblical text calls us to nurture relationships. We are called to nurture our relationship with God and nurture our relationships with other people. We believe God calls us here in Chariton to nurture relationships and help others to see Jesus.
To Be Rooted
Jesus gave us directions of what we are called to do. But what does that look like for us here in Chariton. We come to renewed life to be rooted, to invite and to nurture relationships. Today we talk about being rooted. Paul calls us to be so rooted that we don’t allow things to sway us. We feel we are called as a church to help people become rooted and established.
Breathe Again
Today is the day in the church we celebrate that Spirit falling. We are so thankful that God gives His Spirit to us to guide us. May we always listen and step out in the ways He asks us.
To Be Seen
The text of Psalm 139 tells us that God knows us, He formed us. He knows everything about us and yet he still desires a relationship with us. We can have confidence in that and that our identity is found in Christ.
For I Know
We use the Jeremiah 29:11 verse a lot this time of year especially for graduations. God does have plans for His creation, He has plans for us but they fit in the larger plans He has for creation. We can’t forget the context that it was said in.
